Just a quick one today, I managed to get in 90 minutes of airbrushing time on the weekend. The result?
Basecoats and two highlights on 40+ models to expand my HH Death Guard army. First up on deck are my Heavy Support squads (one with 5 lascannons and another with 5 missile launchers). Then it's on to some more detailed fun stuff : )
Cheers
Dave
Love it :)
ReplyDeleteGreat non-white base color.
I started with a base coat of P3 Bastion Grey, then added some Vallejo Pale Sand and some vallejo White in varying amounts for the highlights. Now to go back and enhance the shading, then add the chipping, then edge highlight with White.
DeleteMaybe single one out and do a step-by-step?
ReplyDeleteMaybe, I'll probably do another couple of dozen for the army ; )
DeleteAgree, I'd like to see the steps on one mini if you feel inclined :).
DeleteIs that a conversion beamer rapier?
ReplyDeleteNope, it's one of the old metal ones from "back in the day". I didn't have the old crew so I've kit bashed a couple of likely looking guys.
DeleteI guess you got bitten big by the OLM legion bug as well. I can't remember the last time I saw you use an airbrush.
ReplyDeleteJohn, it was back when I did my previous batch of Death Guard. Fortunately I still had my paints mixed ; ) You'll be happy to know I now have my GW blues, so perhaps I'll bust out the airbrush again this weekend for the Centurions.
DeleteI think this is the route I need to take with my Emperor's Children. At my current pace, I may finish what I have in 2018.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is the way to go buddy! If you like I'll put you in touch with Damon Drescher on the West Coast who has done some lovely ECs with airbrush pre-shading and the Minitaire Ghost tints purple.
DeleteIm ridiculously excited to see how these guys turn out.
ReplyDeleteMe too
ReplyDeleteDon't get too excited, guys. It outs a lot of pressure on me ; )
