I finally finished one!

It's still all noses to the grindstones here at Dave Taylor Miniatures, with lots of work for March in the queue. I'm quite happy about that : )

I did carve out some time, however, to finish up this guy, who has been sitting on my desk for a few weeks (thanks to a generous James). He's an early cast of the Quaker robot from the Infamy: Welcome to the Big Smoke game. You can check out my other posts about it here.

He's a nifty little, almost-hound-like cleaning robot with a big lightning gun on his back. Very cool. I went for a simple, Tesla-just-finished-building-this-prototype-in-his-workshop look, with dark cast iron, shinier steel, and some solid brass machined parts.

The base is from Secret Weapon Miniatures' Town Square range.

I hope you like it : )

And here's a size comparison with a FW Thallax.

Cheers
Dave

  1. That is a cool little model! The vivid blue is very striking and I like the limited use of rusty metal to add interest.

    1. Thanks Joe. No rusty metal, just clean brass (without the typical/expected oxidation/verde gris) as it's only just been built and not left out in the weather.

    2. Sorry to call your shiny new robot a rust bucket! Looking at it on the bigger screen I can now clearly see it is a nicely oiled brass!

    3. Haha, no worries, Joe. : ) It's such a finely detailed model it's a bit difficult for my skills to make it immediately obvious.

  2. That is a fantastic model. It almost looks like a "dog" version of the mechanicum! Very well done Dave!

  3. Looks great, Dave! Not that that's any surprise coming from you.

When do we get to see some more Flames of War up? *hint hint*

  4. Great paint job as always. Cool model too. I watched an unboxing segment during BeastsofWar.com's Weekender and the Infamy models looked very fragile. Any problems during clean up or assembly Dave?

    1. Hi Nick,

Resin models can always be a bit delicate, and with the incredible detail of these models, some are fragile. Holmes with his backpack looks to be the most fragile at the moment, but there are others that will have absolutely no issue being used on the tabletop. Quaker is just fine for handling, as is Toad and Mole.

As the game only utilizes four models per side, I think most players can treat their models with respect ; )

    2. Ah, I didn't realize the model count was so low. That's definitely a factor in model handling for sure. Haha. Thanks for the info Dave!
