Wreck Age Stitchers

A couple of posts back I put up a teaser of two models from the Wreck-Age range of Stitchers. Well, here they are in their full glory.

A little while back I heard from a friend of the guys at Hyacinth Games (and a regular reader of this blog). He wanted to send me some models and see what I did with them. I've always liked the ideas behind Wreck-Age and some of the "mood art" on the website is just great. When the Stitchers arrived, I started to sketch out a couple of color schemes. I started them a bit later than I'd originally intended, but I'm very happy with how they turned out. I particularly like the way the dark leather aprons and hoods turned out. Credit for the look there must go to Roman Lappat, thanks to his class at Adepticon.

Anyway, on to more photos.

  1. Those medics don't look very "healy". I love the goggles and subdued palette. For some reason I can't enbiggen the first image though

  2. I know it is traditional for female wargames figures to have their boobs out for the lads, but... it'd be nice is some of the gals covered up occasionally.

    Lovely paint job.

    1. Thanks Euan. Yep, she still has the cleavage going on, but wonderfully proportioned.

    2. The Stitchmen are the only faction that show any skin in Wreck Age so far, this sculpt being the only example of that. Our other 20 or so female models are pretty covered up, the Stakers in particular have some ladies in dusters you may find appealing :)

  3. Wow. Wreck Age never really inspired me but these two models are pretty sweet. I love the use of desaturated colors along with the full range of contrast (light and dark). Nice thing too is the way you were able to show all the different layers of cloth without expanding beyond your limited palette.

    1. Thanks Tim. These guys are some of the best in the range (in my humble opinion), and I think they'd be my choice if I were to play. I'm looking forward to seeing more work from this sculptor.

  4. I saw some Wreck Age models at the FLGS this weekend, and was slightly interested. Now I am much more interested! These look great.

    1. I think the Hyacinth Games folks have a bunch more stuff that was funded by their Kickstarter set to release later this year. It'll definitely be interesting to see more models like this.

    1. Glad you like them Nick. I'm so used to painting a variation on the "studio color scheme", that this was a very exciting challenge. I hope I did Anton and the guys proud.

  6. Nice work on the Stitchers. I love the idea behind Wreck Age (I actually wrote a short piece for the Stichmen section of the rulebook), and I'm glad to see the game and the figures are starting to creep their way out into the world more and more.

  7. Nice. I like how dark and natural the tones on these are. It makes the skin jump out nicely.
