I've finally had a chance to assemble the second Contemptor Dread for my Death Guard. This one is carrying a multi-melta and dreadnought close combat weapon (with heavy flamer). I wanted to give this guy a proper hunched feel, as though he's being very precise with his shot placement.
Hope you like him : )
Cheers
Dave
I hate being negative about people's hard work, but the squat looks a bit too extreme like he's about to sit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ambit for your comment. I've taken a closer look at the model, and I feel the "center of gravity" of the model is still over the feet, but I can certainly see how one or two of the camera angles might give the impression otherwise.
DeleteCheers
Dave
I love you man, but that pose looks like he is constipated. Someone had to speak up. ;)
DeleteMulti-melta to the face John, that's what you'll get! ; )
DeleteHe's even got a pile of rubble right behind him!
DeleteGood thing I am putting dozers on my rhinos.
I love the pose and think its perfect - it's dynamic in a defensive manner... Perfect for an ancient and wise Contemptor.
ReplyDeleteThanks mate ; )
DeleteHe looks like he has to poop. For Nurgle!
ReplyDeletePerhaps he'll be my Traitor Dread?
DeleteDoes that mean you'll model a symbolic lodge coin on him?
DeleteHmmm, not a bad idea.
DeleteHi Dave the truth is that the pose fails to convince me, but I am so looking forward to seeing them finished yet. by the way you plan to include something more to your strength Mechanicus
ReplyDeleteAlberto, I'm also looking forward to getting them finished. I do have a few other Mechanicum projects I'd like to tackle : )
DeleteOk dave cant wait to see them
DeleteI like it! I find there's always a couple angles that end up looking goofy on the Contemptors, I think it has a great solid heavy look very suitable for the Death Guard. Can't wait to see it painted up!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mordian 7th!
DeleteI like the pose. To me, it has a "duck, fire, dodge" feel. Seems like his next action after firing will be to pivot in the opposite direction to take on the enemy coming from that angle.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I've never been a fan of the "standing tall" pose a lot of folks use for their Contemptors, so my opinion is probably biased.
Thanks Rhino, I'll take biased ; )
DeleteHi Dave I've been seeing pictures of your slaves mechanicus and can not see that figure started
