The Flight - Part Four

Another update on my Inquisition-themed diorama. Click these links to see Parts One, Two, and Three.

The first model to check out is Areta, Inquisitor Bartok's Assassinatrix. Areta actually started out as a potential part of my Mechanicum army (after being inspired by the assassin in the story of the same name), but once I'd read Anthony's story for my diorama, I knew I could repurpose her.

Built from Dark Eldar Wyche parts, I think she has a great, coiled menace about her. Following on from the idea of having all the henchmen with shrouded or augmented sight, I think I'll be adding some bionic eyes to Areta.

And then there's Saskia, Bartok's telekine. I'm thinking that  should either put up a veil over her face, or simply paint her eyes without pupils. Still a lot more work to go, and lots of fiddly details on the bodice and skirts of her dress.

Cheers
Dave

  1. Hit the nail on the head with the coiled and ready to spring menace in Areta. Will be interesting to see how she fits into the movement of the diorama.

Saskia is an ambitious miniature and so far she is looking fine. Really like how you have built her dress, clever idea.

    1. She'll definitely be one of the toughest to get right, but here's hoping...

  2. Love the anti-grav boots. That seemed like such a cool bit in Mechanicum, and I think you've done a great job capturing that character.

  3. Oooh, this is very promising. Never thought to use DE parts...but they work perfectly.

    Great stuff as always Dave.

  4. Looks good, can't wait to see it all together. Had the same idea for the DE parts used to make Sisters Army, as I really dislike metal figures. I did a quick test model with some DE Warrior bits with blade like items removed and smoothed, still not totally pleased with the fit of them & the Marine backpack. But figure some sculpted cloaks & sleeves with better the transitions between them. Like the DE Scourge legs for Seraphim legs as well.

    1. Thanks James. Yeah, the SM backpack and bolter might be a bit too big for the Sister. Perhaps you could try one of the FW MkII (or VI) backpacks as they're less bulky. Also, if the rumors are true, the IG will be getting some smaller boltguns for their Veterans, which might work better. Best of luck.

  5. Love the first one. The way he hold his blades remind me the guy in Hellboy.
