DARK AGE - A Sneak Peek at some forces for Beasts Of War

I've been working part-time with CoolMiniOrNot over the last few months. Back in February I was able to head over to Northern Ireland and film a bunch of videos about Dark Age with the guys at Beasts Of War. It was a great week, and now the videos are about to launch. Next week (May 2-7, 2016) will be Dark Age Week on BOW. They've already posted their first video, a cool vlog about the building of the table we gamed on all week : )

After the themed week, Warren and the team will be playing out a Battle Report campaign, and I was awarded the task of painting up the forces they'll be using. The force that features in all the games are those led by St John. I've painted up over 1,000 points for the BOW team to choose from, including St John on foot AND mounted on his griffon.

The second force is a generic Outcast warband. This one is closer to 500 points, with Scuts, Wasteland Warriors, Brutes, a Fixer, and the gloriously enigmatic Captain Jake Flay (also pictured below).

I hope you like these photos, and I hope you enjoy the videos on Beasts of War next week, even if you have to watch my goofy face in a bunch of them ; )

INQUISITOR - The Cult!

My INQUISITOR commission is still underway. Here are the two minis I delivered at the end of March - a Genestealer Magus and a Purestrain Genestealer.

It was pretty crazy timing that I started working on these just before the Deathwatch Overkill board game was released by GW. I decided to go with color schemes directly from the game, and was informed by the many images of the Cult.

I hope you like them : )

HERESY! - Death Guard Contemptor finally complete!

It has been a while, but since I finished the Warlord, I've gone back and taken a closer look at what I need to work on for my Death Guard. This Contemptor Dreadnought has been sitting on my painting table for a little over TWO years! I've painted on it here and there, so it was a relatively simple matter to finish it up. Here's a reminder of what it looked like before paint.

With another contempt packing twin Kheres assault cannons, I thought it might be a good idea to create something not quite as fierce, but with a bit of a punch. Multi-melta and a Power Fist with heavy flamer.

I hope you like him : )

WARLORD - Some nice photos!

It has been two weeks since AdeptiCon and I'm not sure I've had a chance to breathe since then. April is shaping up to be my busiest month ever! Anyway, I promised you good folks some photos of my Warlord - Domitor Fortis, Warlord of Legio Crucius - and here it is. I hope you like them.

I just realized I didn't take any detailed photos of the base. I'll get that done when I take some photos of the banner I'm working on for this beast : )

CHARITY - Two Dark Age forces to benefit Doctors Without Borders!

I am very pleased to announce that the NOVA Open Charitable Foundation (NOCF) has partnered with CoolMiniOrNot (CMON) to present this excellent raffle opportunity.

I recently had the good fortune to paint up two, 1000+ point forces for the excellent game Dark Age, and then take the two forces over to Northern Ireland to visit the guys at Beasts of War. These two forces were used in quite a few of the 27 different videos we shot while we were there.

And now, a couple of months later, you have the opportunity to get these forces for yourself. Today you can go to the NOCF site (HERE) and purchase tickets to win them. The tickets are $5 each, and here's a limit of just 300 per force, giving everyone involved a much better chance of winning some cool toy soldiers than any other raffle you are likely to enter! All proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.

Here's a look at the forces:

St. Isaac himself, in his Ajax suit

Captain Cora Machariel, and three Controllers

 The Prometheus

Two Centipedes

A Strike and a Strike Leader

 Two Firestorms

Dragyri - The Ice Caste

A Death's Device and a Spirit Lord

Two Soul Searchers

A Blizzard and a Frostbite

 A Soul Warden

A Greater Ice Elemental and three Hailkin (cast in translucent blue resin)

Tickets for both forces go on sale today, and will be available until Saturday, May 7, when we'll announce the winners at the CMON Expo 2016.

Just like every other NOCF army raffle, you can buy tickets from anywhere in the world, and we'll ship the models to anywhere in the world in a sturdy KR Multicase. All proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders.

If you are thinking about getting into Dark Age, or have been playing for years, this is a great opportunity to support a great cause (DWB) and possibly win some great models along the way. Please purchase raffle tickets and please share this far and wide!

Cheers

WARLORD - Finally, the Warlord Titan Build is complete!

Ok, so after six long and occasionally grueling months the Warlord Titan (Domitor Fortis of the Legio Crucius) is now ready to walk!

Last night at AdeptiCon, I was able to reveal the Warlord to my assembled Liber Titanitcus class. There was a lot of chat about how I built the beast, anecdotes about the trials and tribulations, and quite a few very good questions along the way.

I'm very happy with the result, and at the same time I know there are a few things I can do to improve  it. These stages will be applied at a later date (and I'll put together a video once they're done).

Domitor Fortis stands ready, alongside Primaris Secutar.

The Titan Transport.

The Titans, and many other items, all packed for the show.

My thanks to Mel Bose and Ash Barker for their advice and support along the way in this YouTube build endeavor.

My thanks to my patrons on Patreon for their belief in the value of hobby content.

My thanks to everyone who has followed along and offered their support and comments along the way.

My thanks to Duane, Jake, and Murph for schlepping that enormous crate from Baltimore to Chicago : )

Cheers
