Worth the wait?

With all the other fun stuff going on (like finishing off over 170 Union soldiers!), it has been a little tough to get some of my recent Mechanicum constructs painted. Finally, though, I was able to finish this chap. I hope he was worth the wait.

Originally I was thinking his ride was based on some sort of spider body, but now that it's all painted up, I think it more closely resembles some sort of nasty silverfish, or another creepy-crawly that likes to nibble away to the clothes at the back of your closet.

Cheers
Dave

  1. It looks great Dave and it does remind me of a nasty little silverfish now that you mention it. Thanks for giving me the heeby-jeebies.

    1. Sorry I couldn't stay longer at the Dropzone GT last week, but the little one was ready to leave.

  2. Lovely work Dave! I've been going with a spidery aesthetic with my own ad-mech - your recent work has gotten me fired up to work on it again, just cranked out a few units over the last week with more to come!

Keep up the great work, inspiring stuff as always!

    1. It's a press mold from another AdMech symbol somewhere, possibly the Techmarine shoulderpad?

  5. Lovely work, really in spirit of yours.
Wonder how you've made this copper colour?

    1. The copper color starts with a base of VGC Tinny Tin, then highlighted with VGC Brassy Brass, then edge highlighted by mixing a little Mithril Silver into the Brassy Brass. on some areas there was a thinned wash of VGC Charred Brown/Black mix.

The final step was a patchy was of Secret Weapon Miniatures' Storm Cloud Wash.

      I hope that helps : )

  7. Oh so awesome..... Such a great combination of fantasy and 40k Pieces. I especially love the battle wizard head. Very fitting!

  8. Brilliant work, no matter how sick/twisted I try to make my own mechanicus, they always end up looking like preschool children compared to yours.

    1. I fear you do yourself a grave disservice, Manus. Your AdMech stuff is looking great, especially the Omniscion you're working on, very cool indeed!

  11. Is this the ex WD editior? well anyways good work on this guy. Admech do have some rather nice "creations" biomech i'm a big fan of. will keep an eye out for your future projects. [they are spectacular conversions & kitbashes make me green with envy and also slack jawed awe] ;)
