WARLORD - A slight hiccup...

As many of you will know, when there are few posts on this blog, it generally means I'm incredibly busy with work or Real Life™. Well, that's the current situation. Busy.

I posted this photo on my Instagram account recently, hoping that the following day I'd be able to film a video of me drilling into the "already glued" knee and hip joints to reinforce them with some brass rod I purchased on Tuesday. Well, everything seemed solid enough as I went to bed, but when I descended the stairs to my office/basement I was greeted by a disheartening sight. I must not have mixed the two-part epoxy glue well enough and the hips and one thigh had decided to fall off the model. Last night I decided to start again with this section of the legs. I've glued the thigh back on to the leg and, when I'm sure everything is cured properly, I'll glue the pelvis back in place. Once that's done, I'll shoot the planned video.

Thanks for your patience. It's a slight hiccup, but I'll be back on track soon.

Cheers
Dave

  1. Sorry to hear it didn't work out the first time but I'm sure everyone has been there at one point or another. I for one had a terrible experience with a marauder bomber that fell off the work table in the middle of the night. Expletives might have been uttered... But keep at it. Your dedication to the craft keeps quite a few of us motivated.

  3. I hope the re-worked join works better than the first.

  4. That's a bit unfortunate, Dave. Reminds me of a friend who had something like that happen two or three times wile doing a Warhound commission.

I'm a bit surprised you didn't just pin it, being so massive.

*ponder* Another interesting idea is to knock a few holes into areas that'll be hidden and instead of using glue, mix up a small amount of resin and use that as a bonding agent - if you get close enough to the original resin type, it essentially makes it into one whole mass, instead of two masses with a wafer of glue in between.
