Back when I first put together my Death Guard (for use at AdeptiCon 2007), I was using the Space Marine Codex of the time. My Tactical squads each had a lascannon-toting Marine (seen in the back row above). I decided now was the time to pick up a few new lascannons and missile launchers (below) from Forgeworld to round out two Heavy Support squads.
Additionally, I took a few old plastic parts and new resin legs and backpacks to build three Death Guard Apothecaries. I've decided to go with Black Templar torsos, the tabards will be painted in a deep red. Should look pretty cool against the green of the shoulder pads.
Cheers
Dave
Very nice!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see them painted.
Thanks Grot Orderly!
DeleteHi Dave I never tire of seeing your work are the master. A greeting from Spain
ReplyDeleteThanks Alberto!
DeleteI don't know dave, that looks a little power-gamery to me. ;)
ReplyDelete(psst--sergeant needs an augury scanner)
Thanks for the tip John ; )
DeleteWhile we're talking fun stuff, what load outs would you suggest for 3 Myrmidon Secutors and 3 Mymidon Destructors?
whoa..I can't wait to see how those turn out! My gut usually goes with whatever looks the coolest, you know that. Just about any competitive player would give more tuned advice! That said, I like volkite Culverins for their looks. However,I doubt you need any more anti-infantry. Given that, the best option is probably the Thruster Cannon, since it is a heavy 2 ap 2 lance weapon. A squad of these guys should destroy a tank per turn. I'm guessing these guys are going to be part of your death guard army, so purely for theme, the Irradiation Projector fits, though the rules are a little weird.
DeleteSo when do we start that Istavan III campaign. :)
NICE! Love those apothecaries, really looking forward to seeing 'em painted up. Great builds, man!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mordian 7th!
DeleteLove the apothecaries! Careful with the red, keep it dark and muted or they'll look like Christmas marines ;)
ReplyDeleteDeep red with a purplish tinge was what I was planning on, but now you've put the thought in my head... ; )
DeleteSuper stuff. I really enjoy seeing how you take bits from various places to create the look you want. Can't wait to see the apothocaries painted...
ReplyDeleteDeath Guard... so evil !!
ReplyDeleteThat is good !
ReplyDeleteI like it, good conversion !
Good job of converting, as always right?
ReplyDeleteNow it remains only painting ;)
