I'm currently working on a Night Haunter piece and wanted to track down a tidbit of information. I have heard at some point that Night Haunter (Konrad Curze), the Primarch of the Night Lords, wears a crown of some sort. I need to know if that is the case.
If you know where that information can be found (ie. a book reference, web page etc.), please post in a comment below.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Dave
Hey Dave,
ReplyDeleteI just checked all my stuff including the Index Astartes Night Lords article and it has nothing.
Night Haunter was referred to as "The Dark King" and there are two instances of his appearing on a throne, but no crown is mentioned.
It's called the Corona Nox and apparently the source of the info is the novel "Lord of the Night" by Simon Spurrier.

I can totally see Kurtz, I mean Kurze, with a crazy-crown!!
ReplyDeleteA crown is also mentioned at p 343 of Soul Hunter by Aaron Dembski Bowden. The Assassin M'Shen stole it from Kurze after killing him, along with his signet ring, weapons and other relics to help prove the kill.
ReplyDeleteThe reason many refer to a "crown" was due to the fact of when he took control of his world. I personally wouldn't craft one onto him, but you could always ask the client to see if they wanted one.

ReplyDeleteNevermind,
Tristan has it. :)
"It was a crown, of sorts. A black circlet of mercurial metal" ... "To either side of its tapered ring there rose tall horns, needle-straight and jagged-edged, like twin sabre-blades dipped in oil. But most stunning of all" ... "set into the crown's frontspiece and suspended upon the wearer's forehead on a platinum mounting, stood a jewel. A perfect teardrop of ruby-red" ... "Smooth and unblemished" ... "It burned with an inner light."

in the first audio book of the horus heresy it gives a rather detailed description of his helm. pretty much a chaplins death mask with wings from memory.
ReplyDelete@Mephiostopheles - do you mean the audio book "Raven's Flight"? If so, that's Corax, primarch of the Raven Guard. If not, which audio book do you mean?
ReplyDeleteCheers
Dave
It's in The Lightning Tower/Dark King audio book I believe.
ReplyDeleteD'oh, you are correct. I forgot the Games Day exclusive book had been made into an audio book. Thanks guys. I think I'll avoid the winged helm though. I think it looks goofy : )
ReplyDeleteyeah, the lightning tower/dark king audio book. didnt realise they released it as a hard copy book.... damn australia having no games day :S
