My INQUISITOR commission is still underway. Here are the two minis I delivered at the end of March - a Genestealer Magus and a Purestrain Genestealer.
It was pretty crazy timing that I started working on these just before the Deathwatch Overkill board game was released by GW. I decided to go with color schemes directly from the game, and was informed by the many images of the Cult.
I hope you like them : )
Cheers
Dave
Those are fantastic! Loving the trim on the magus' robes, and the 'stealer looks great. Awesome work as always, man!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joel : )
DeleteSmashing painting love the Purestrain especially :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks : )
DeleteVery nice! It reminds me of my very first experiences of 40k all those years ago when genestealers were that colour in white dwarf
ReplyDeleteYep, it's certainly a classic scheme!
DeleteStunning work! I never knew that Genestealer models were produced at Inquisitor scale. Really awesome work, the colours are so rich, & really 'pop' visually.
ReplyDeleteSpecialist Games released a Genestealer Magus conversion kit (which I've added to a Covenant legs and torso), as well as the Purestrain kit. I'm going to be looking around for some more to hopefully knock up a couple of other cult members : )
DeleteYeah, it's getting tougher, but you can still find some of the IG models for reasonable prices ($20-30 per model). It makes a full squad pricey, but still cool :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I'm halfway through the Deathwatch: Overkill cult myself. Those old large scale Inquisitor minis were a wealth of parts back in the day. If I'd know then they were doing away with them my bits orders would've been 5 times the size....
ReplyDeleteCan you share the colors used in the pale skin? Looks really good!
