Managed to get a little paint on this guy over the weekend. The color scheme is inspired by some great Ogryn I spotted on the Solar Auxilia Facebook page.
I can certainly understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea. With only two others left to do, I should be able to keep the michelin man posts to a minimum ; )
I love the figure and love the paint job. One small add. If possible it could have some saliva from the mouth to the gas mask. I could totally see these things drooling all over the place. Love the red accents in the armor against the grey body suit.
Really dig the color scheme, Dave - that is a great combo!
The open faced helm sculpt is definitely polarizing. I'm not a huge fan of it, but the closed-faced helms are brilliant and menacing. Nevertheless, I love how this one's turned out!
Thanks Greg. The brutal part about those scissor-hands is that they blades are on the outside. It punches in and then splays out. The designer was obviously thinking maximum carnage.
amazing !
ReplyDeleteThanks, Remi : )
DeleteGreat painting Dave, but i just hate the model, it jsut looks like a cross between teh Michelin man and edward scissor hands and not in a good way!

DeleteWasn't prepared for that colour scheme and I'd never think it would work. But it does, exceedingly so in fact
ReplyDeleteIt does work nicely. I stole it from Drew AridMonk Sturrock on the Solar Auxilia FB page : )

ReplyDeleteI'd normally shy away from something like that, but as it's only for one model... how would you suggest to do it?
DeleteI am torn on these guys. I love ogryns, but...
ReplyDeleteAll I can think of is 'I'm the Juggernaught! Bitch!"
Yep, there is a slightly comedic, slightly unstoppable look to them : )

ReplyDeleteThanks jugger!

ReplyDeleteThanks PC!
DeleteI didn't like the scissor hands until you did them Dave. Great job! This guy looks so brutal!
