What's next?
With Games Day behind me (and all the work for Armies On Parade and Golden Demon with it), it is finally time to turn to my future projects and try to get them in some sort of order.
Above you can see the test model for my next 40K project. It's been quite a while since I painted up a 40K army, so it's going to be fun getting stuck back in. This model is an Assault Marine from the Lamenters Chapter, one of those who sided with Huron Blackheart during the Badab Wars. But more on this later.
My future painting plans include:
• Around 1,000 points of Lamenters
• Five regiments of Union infantry for our Guns of April 2013 project
• Finishing off the first regiment for my Napoleonic Russian army
• Painting up the cool Witch Hunter model from the new Empire list
• Some Americans and Germans for Flames Of War
And getting into some serious planning for my 2013 Armies On Parade entry ; )
What are you guys planning?
Cheers
Dave
Only to give you luck in your projects and that the process is everything possible pleasant, in order that you could enjoy all of them. I wait for them impatiently, a great greeting.
ReplyDeleteLovely Lamenter!...
ReplyDeleteMy Plans.. Finish My Space Wolves.. Maybe finally get my ass in gear to enter the GD in hopes of first cut..
Move on to my Ork Army that's currently languishing in boxes...
yeah, that'll do :)
Just needed to point out the square base Dave. Thought you might want to 40k it up a bit and go round. :)
ReplyDeletePlans......prepare for NOVA, then I really have to clean my hobby space. I've got a thunderhawk to build, and it going to need a lot of room.
I'm thinking of starting a new basing movement in 40K John. You should get in on it too ; )
DeleteFinish up 6k points of World Eaters by Sept 8th for a First War for Armageddon Apocalypse game.
ReplyDeleteColKG
Best of luck with that tight deadline, I hope you are far enough along!
DeleteHeaps and Heaps!
ReplyDeleteFinish my Space Wolf 13th company Project
Finish my FOW Us Para's
Paint a Bolt action Fallschrimjager army
Paint the British Guards Division from Waterloo for a 2015 Waterloo Project. (Blog Coming soon!)
Let me know about that Waterloo blog when it happens!
DeleteFirst I need to catch up on commission projects....fell a tad behind while getting ready for Games Day! Then I need to move forward on my Demons for 40K; going for a 3rd best painted in a row at the Alamo 40K GT next spring. Then I'll be fleshing out the Demons so I can play them in both systems, to try and make it to my first Fantasy Alamo GT next year in the fall. Somewhere in there try to come up with a good idea for a display board for next year's Armies on Parade...oh, and try to get an earlier start then 2 weeks on Golden Demon entries....maybe I can move up to Gold that way!
ReplyDeleteI myself have to get caught up on my commission projects. Been a bit behind but thankfully I have some amazing clients. Once that's all done, I plan on jumping into my 40k daemon army and then that can lead into a Word Bearers army once the 40k starter box set hits. I expect to be buying as many Possessed kits as I can to get this going. Then hopefully I can focus on my Beastmen for Fantasy. Phew....
ReplyDeleteHoly cow Dave! I have an Angels Sanguine army (Red/Black halves) and wanted something different and decided to paint a Lamenters Tactical squad. I'm stuck though on the paint scheme. Perhaps I'll wait until you show what colors you use.
ReplyDeleteHopefully in the next post or two I'll have my recipe finalized enough to tell you all ; )
Delete(But it all starts with a basecoat of Averland Sun, shaded back with Skrag Brown, then a little Vallejo Charred Brown. Highlighted up with Vallejo Sun Yellow, and finally add in some Vallejo Pale Sand.) I hope that gets you by.
to finally get the remaining 16k of my 22k shadowhawks chapter painted and based...so much work...
ReplyDeleteGet off the computer then and get painting!
DeleteGot a couple of squads before finishing my IG army, and I'm slowly working my way through a large force of Death Guard. The next few months are not gonna be kind to my bank account..
ReplyDeleteHi, this is my first comment on this blog that I've been lurking for a while. Awesome models BTW.
ReplyDeleteMy plan is to build a nicely painted Imperial fists army.
And to help me, would you kindly make a step-by-step tutorial on how you painted this mini? That would be great.
Cheers
Hi Dom, thanks for commenting. Check out the quick and dirty recipe I posted in the reply to Richard above. Hopefully that's enough to get you started until I get some more painted.
DeleteCheers
Dave
This year:
ReplyDeleteFinish Game Table and Terrain
2 More ROW forces [1 German, 1 TBD Allies]
2800 points of Agincourt English [using Perry Bros]
and maybe.... some Victrix Greeks
Thanks
ReplyDeleteI am now a formal follower!
Keep up the good work
Very cool Marines! I am putting a 1k force together too. I am actually pretty entertained by the new ed of the game, and miss the guys I used to play with, so I am looking forward to some games. I have 48 high elves to wrap by the end of the month (tick tick tick tick...). Other than that I am continuing on with some more sculpting articles, and minis for my Soviet FoW army.
ReplyDeleteFor me I need to finish my Blood Axe Orks.
ReplyDeleteA tactical and shooty ork army that is bound to fail but will be fun to play with.
Having read this blog for so long I have finally bitten the bullet and ordered up my first Napoleonic’s in the form of the Vitrix 54mm (new scale and new genre for me). However after looking at that sweet Lamenter I am going to have to push through some Lamenters whilst waiting for the Napoleonic’s!
ReplyDeleteLoving that Lamenter, he's the business!
ReplyDeleteI am working on a Siege of Vraks Renegades army for 6th ed. Put up the test model the other day and am quite pleased with the results so far.
Do you have a list yet for your army?
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Dave! I'm looking forward to watching these projects progress.
ReplyDeleteMyself, I'm hard at work on a new Iron Warriors army that I need to get finished by the end of October for the Mechanicon GT at the Warstore Weekend. Thankfully it's only 1500 points, and nightly paint sessions with my son and his two buds has really been motivating, so much easier when it's a social event.
While I'm here, I should thank you for those Chaos Stars you used to paint on the side of your tanks, I totally stole that idea for this army, so Tanks, er, Thanks!...
Great paintjob!
ReplyDeleteThe battle damages are impressive! Very realistic.
cheers
I need to get started on my Imperial Guard; I just can't seem to get excited about them! I bought the army and cannot afford another one... Maybe I will add some space marines. I just can not paint cloth no matter how many hours I spend trying to layer correctly. Argh!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog through a subscriber on my own blog ;)
ReplyDeleteAwesome stuff! Seems you like going to GD events - maybe you want to check out my blog as I will travel to and report from quite a few this year myself. All GD's, Hussar, Scale Model Masters, Monte San Salvino...
I have quite a big entry for the GD UK planned... So excited about it! :P
